Rosacea Treatment

Rosacea in Indian skin is often misdiagnosed as acne or photoageing because the background skin tone masks the redness. We assess for the four sub-types (erythematotelangiectatic, papulopustular, phymatous, ocular), identify the triggers that drive your flares, and build a calm, layered plan — gentle topicals, trigger management, low-energy vascular-friendly procedures where indicated, and oral therapy only when warranted.

Quick answer
Doctor-led rosacea treatment in Pune calibrated for Indian skin — sub-type assessment, trigger mapping, gentle topicals (azelaic acid, ivermectin, metronidazole), barrier-supportive routine, low-fluence vascular laser when redness is dominant, and oral therapy where needed. Plans avoid the harsh actives that typically worsen rosacea.
Best suited for

Who this treatment helps

Persistent facial redness
Flushing and warmth
Acne-like rosacea (papulopustular)
Sensitive, easily-irritated skin
What to expect

A measured, four-stage process.

Step 01

Sub-type assessment

An unhurried consultation: examination of redness pattern, vessels, papules, ocular symptoms, and a review of triggers (heat, sun, alcohol, spice, certain skincare).

Step 02

Trigger and routine audit

Most rosacea improvement comes from removing what is making it worse. A simple barrier-supportive routine with mineral SPF replaces over-stripping cleansers and actives.

Step 03

Targeted topical or oral

Azelaic acid, topical ivermectin or metronidazole as appropriate. Oral doxycycline at sub-antimicrobial dose for inflammatory rosacea where indicated.

Step 04

In-clinic care if needed

Low-energy vascular-friendly laser sessions for persistent redness and visible vessels, with parameters calibrated for Indian skin to avoid post-inflammatory pigmentation.

FAQ

Common questions about Rosacea Treatment.

How is rosacea different from acne?
Rosacea typically affects the central face (cheeks, nose, chin, forehead), worsens with heat / sun / spice / alcohol triggers, and brings persistent background redness rather than the comedones (blackheads, whiteheads) that define acne. The same patient can sometimes have both — which is why correct diagnosis matters before treatment.
Will lasers worsen my rosacea?
No — at low fluence, with vascular-friendly settings, lasers help rosacea. Aggressive parameters or resurfacing lasers can worsen it. We calibrate carefully for Indian skin and pause if any rebound is seen.
Can rosacea be cured permanently?
Rosacea is best thought of as managed rather than cured. With trigger management, the right topicals, and maintenance care, most patients see significant and lasting improvement in redness and flares.
Are over-the-counter "redness creams" useful?
Most are not — and many fragrance-heavy or alcohol-based products worsen rosacea. We build a routine around fragrance-free barrier-supportive moisturisers, mineral sunscreen, and prescription-strength topicals where indicated.
